About A Tapestry of Kindness

Rick & Linda Maher – Founding Directors
A Tapestry of Kindness was founded by Rick and Linda Maher of Saint John, New Brunswick, with a simple but powerful mission: to weave together compassion, community and hope into a Tapestry of Kindness.
Partnering with Father Lukasz Sajac, OMI of the Catholic Church in Gjoa Haven, NU, and Billy Nimiqtaqtuq of Gjoa Haven, the ATOK team helped organize and distribute the first round of food hampers to families in need.
This effort marks the beginning of an ongoing initiative to bring practical support and heartfelt connection to remote northern communities. Each act of giving—each thread of kindness—strengthens the bond between people and reminds us that generosity knows no distance.
Together, we’re building a tapestry of kindness—one family, one community, and one act of care at a time.
